The RFL kiosks remain at Electro Space during closed season for those who wish to continue to support. All donations benefit the American Cancer Society as usual, just no team activity and tracked team totals in closed season.

Electro Space - Eurovision = L$100,939
Team ES Campsite - Relay Sessions = L$20,000
Team ES Community - DJ Relay 2022 = L$298,815
Team ES @ Fantasy Faire - L$55,200 (FF team separate to Team ES)
Team ES Campsite - "Heroes Unite!"
Each team is given a quarter region along the Relay track to create a space that represents their team, the RFL theme and provides cancer education for visitors. Even though I have been involved with Relay for Life SL for 5 years now, this is the first year I have created a campsite at RFL sims.
Heroes Unite! was our team Team campsite, a giant pop up comic book with education panels around a giant turntable; one we use at ES. Also we included records named by ES friends in remembrance of loved ones touched by cancer.

A message from Relay For Life of Second Life
Relay for Life of Second Life was recognised as the 3rd biggest fundraising team in the United States in 2021 and we raised even more this year. This is real, our virtual world community is making a massive difference to real lives and I am so proud to be part of it.
And why The American Cancer Society?
I received this question a few times. Relay for Life is a global fundraising movement to benefit cancer organisations across the world. Second Life is based in the US so Relay of Life of Second Life is listed with the American Cancer Society. Finding a cure is everyone's goal.
Looking Ahead to 2023
The Relay 2023 season opens again in February 2023 and next year's theme is already decided. It's gonna be a splash!
From Autumn, we will begin our Team ES RFL committee meetings and get excited about next year. More news on this from September.
A few learns from our 2022 season;
Firstly community is everything. When communities come together, we make a huge difference so let's do more together in 2023, across our electronic music community. We can put Team kiosks in all venues that wish to fundraise all season for example.
Timings - our DJ Relay was held on Finale weekend which meant we missed the buzz of it all at RFL sims . We will be holding our DJ relay sooner next year. We have been challenged to go for longer. Can we beat 45 hours and beat this year's total ?
Involve others - I am a funny one. I hate to burden, disrupt or annoy people so often I will go it alone to make it stress free for others. Even my spam is minimal, 1 post, 1 group per day! However, I knocked myself over and a few of you are telling me you want to do more so I am looking forward to getting together as a Team ES RFL committee team, more ideas, more events, grow our community team and have fun!
And that's a wrap!
A huge thank you to everyone who relayed with us this year, it was epic and we smashed our 250USD team target. Next year we aim higher :)
We Play, We DJ, We Relay and we'll do it all again next year, until there is a cure 💜💜
