Wow, Just wow! 💜
I don't even know how to express how I feel about what we did together this weekend. I am thrilled, excited, happy, overwhelmed, shocked, proud, tired, emotional, dizzy! I feel so much warmth for how we relayed as community that every time I think about it, the tears come. A crazy amount of organisation, sleep deprivation, coordination and even having to be bossy at times but look what we did.
We raised an astonishing L$298,815 / $1195 USD.
This is how Team ES relays. We Play, we DJ, We Relay!
We're doing this anyway but for one DJ Relay weekend a year, we do it for those touched by cancer, for research, support and progress, for today, for the future and for humanity. This is why I do what I do and why a lot of you think I am crazy. This is why ES exists, to celebrate community. A community that looks beyond its own club walls, status, fame, popularity. A music community that gives so much that sometimes we don't even know the difference we make. This is the difference we can make to people, real people.
I am proud, so very proud and a huge thank you to everyone who made it happen. To the venue owners, managers, hosts, to the 44 DJs and standbys, the cheerleaders, the supporters, everyone who donated, our sponsor iDJStream who tailored a hybrid stream just for us, the photographers and Martin who captured our moments so wonderfully ... thank you all so very much. You are amazing and you are all heroes 💜
And Team ES, our RFL team reached Jade fundraising level this season raising an incredible L$535,114 / $2140 USD between February and June so far, just doing what we do.
The 2022 open RFL fundraising season runs until June 30th and then all totals are set to zero as we move into closed season. I'll post another update at this time.
We Play, We DJ, We Relay and we'll do it all again next year, until there is a cure 💜💜
