The Barbie Social at Electro Space

It started as a suggestion in local chat at a Sunday Social a few weeks ago. Chanya, a DJ in our community suggested a Barbie day. We laughed, we started to think what Barbie we would be and what her house would look like and The Barbie Social was born. 😂💜

And now let's do it for Relay!!

It was the final party of 4ES week and wow what a party!

Party goers came out to a very pink Barbie House on the beach in some of their finest Barbie & Ken wear. 🤣

Disco Barbie, Vintage Barbie, Fairy Barbie, Dodgy Mint Ken, Non Binary Ken, Tropical Ken, Late to the party Ken, Look I even have boobs Barbie, Disco Ken, Cainetta Stripper Barbie, Bankrobber Ken, New Mum Barbie, Workout Ken, The Ken Twins, Rollerboots Barbie and lots of PINK!!

You looked FAB-U-LOUS!

8 DJs gave up their Sunday to provide the music.

Normandy, Spaceberry and Nomad provided gifts for the Relay for Life Raffle boards.

A Sunday Social with a difference. It was so much FUN!

We raised L$:£31,013 = USD$:124.05 for Relay, for those affected by cancer, just because one of our community suggested we have a Barbie Party. This is Relaying at its best! Community in action.

Thank you so much to everyone involved;

- to Alec for helping me decorate the Barbie scene and our beach house and for hosting us;

- to all the DJs, Sarah, Nick, Caine, V, Solly, Chanya, Easy and ... me !! 😂 for giving up time and tips to provide our party music and Relay;

Our next Team ES fundraising event in the calendar is ES Does Eurovision 2023 at Electro Space on Saturday 13th May, for fun, for Relay!

It is also TeamUnity Challenge Time - May 10th to May 25th as Gem Sunkiller, Relay Season Lead writes;

"It is very simple, our Community of Teams are challenged to raise 25,000 USD, starting today and running through May 25th. Unified, we can make this happen, and if I know you all, you will break that number and raise even more! With the TeamUnity challenge being met, we have incentives on a secondary challenge. Those teams advancing their Team Total at least $50.00 US will have $1000 Linden added to their total, Teams adding $500.00 US will have $5000 Linden added to their total. In addition, we have two anon donors who are sponsoring $100.00 US to be awarded two fortunate teams, via random number drawing! Let's all help one another reach those new goals, and in doing so nail this challenge!

We are an electronic music community team that come together for the RFL season to raise money to help the fight against cancer. Club Owners, Managers, DJs, Hosts, Sponsors, we raise money just doing what we love every day.

The key to fundraising success is togetherness, a community pulling together as one in the fight against cancer. We see this year after year with Relay for Life teams so be part of something and make a difference; it matters.
